Acceptance
It can be hard to accept certain things in life, especially the situations you can’t change or control.
But in order to live a fulfilled life you need to practice letting go of things.
Some people might call it acceptance, some call it “not wanting”, “letting go”, “non-attachment” or simply “be present”. Whatever you want to call it, it doesn’t matter. As long as you are aware of what you can change and what is outside of your reach and power. This doesn’t mean you have to accept everything and be happy with it. No. It’s actually different.
First of all, you need to accept the situation as it is. Secondly, you decide how you react to the situation or what you want to do with it. Once you accepted a situation, even a bad or unjust situation, you practice non-attachment. If you are not attached to the situation or the outcome, you become clear on your next steps, without being caught in blind emotions. You can decide what you are going to do next, what are the possibilities you have to avoid such situations in the future or how can you be part of more justice in the world. It always starts with you. But once you have a clear goal in mind, like a mantra or affirmation you will succeed and you will be able to make an impact in the long run.
